Testing THE OFFICE Kevin's Famous Chili

Kevin’s Famous Chili on The Office, who wasn’t intrigued how it tasted? I mean, poor guy spilled it everywhere, right? Did you know it was Hormel in the pot? Regardless, Peacock did share the recipe but you had to find it. A TikTok user’s boyfriends likes to read his contracts and read the Peacock user agreement and found the recipe hidden in all the fancy words. This is so great, apparently they hid another recipe before in the same spot. So now, we all get to try Kevin’s chili and if you’re skeptical that’s why we are here. Today, we are testing his recipe so you don’t have to. It’s a big commitment, 2 hours on low and you’re supposed to let it sit for an hour after. And we will not overlook Kevin’s secret, undercook the onions for the perfect chili!

For the recipe referenced in today’s video:

QUICK TIPS WE LEARNED AFTER TEST:
1. A little salty, start with one Tbsp of salt and add more if needed.
2. Try to find the ancho chili and toast then ground. The pregrounded was missing something.
3. Not sure about the beer, we didn’t notice a difference but again we never cooked with beer before. If you don’t want to use beer, adding more beef broth should work.
4. Recipe called for only pinto beans, but Kat added kidney beans and was happy she did.
5. After 2 hours, it does soak up a lot of your liquid. If you like it soupier, add more broth or water.
6. We wished it had more tomatoes.
7. Do not, repeat, do not skip the undercooked onions and add right before turning stove off after 2 hours. It’s not called on the recipe when to add but watching a video with the real Kevin, he did it at the end to get the full onion flavor.
