Best Chili Garlic Dipping Sauce recipe! Perfect condiment for dipping any cheesy appetizer

It’s no secret I love garlic and anything spicy so I needed to come up a Dipping sauce that would fit that title of the best chili garlic dipping sauce. There is no raw taste of garlic and it’s delicious with a kick of spice and a hint of sweetness to balance it all together. This is super easy to make with basic ingredients available at home. It pairs perfectly for any appetizers especially anything cheesy! Seriously make this to serve with anything cheesy and it’s super delicious. I even use it when I’m cooking, from Indian food to Mexican and Italian food. It adds the flavor of garlic and spice so it’s quite convenient to keep at home!

Happy Cooking!

Servings: 6-8 servings

Prep Time: 10-15 mins

Cooking Time: 30 mins

Total Time: 45 mins

Ingredients:

24-26 dried Red Chillis

1 tbsp white Vinegar

1/3 cup water

1/4 cup vegetable oil; divided

About 30-34 cloves of garlic

1 medium red onion, finely chopped

1/4 tsp pepper

1/2 tsp sugar

1 tsp salt as per taste

1/4 tsp cumin powder

1.5 tbsp honey

1/3 cup ketchup

Directions:

In a bowl put the dried red Chillis, pour vinegar and water over it and mix well. Cover it and let it soak for 2-3 hours.

In a heavy bottom pan on low heat, add 2 tbsp oil. Once warm add the garlic cloves.

Give the garlic cloves a toss in the oil and let one side cook well for 7-8 mins till it’s browns. Keep the flame on low, you don’t want to garlic to burn.

Once one side has browned flip it over and let it cook for 3-4 mins.

Add onions and toss and let it cook for 8-10 mins. The garlic cloves should be well cooked and soft. A spatula should be able to squish it. The onions should be light brown and start to caramelise.

Add spices- salt, pepper, sugar and cumin powder and mix.

Let it cool and add honey. Let it blend till smooth.

Once smooth add ketchup and 2 tbsp oil and blend till smooth.

The dipping sauce is ready! Store it in an airtight container in the fridge. It lasts well for 3-4 weeks.

You can add it while cooking or use it as a dipping sauce. When using it as a dipping sauce, I like to mix 1/4th cup with 2 tsp olive oil and serve!
