Dim Aloo Dal / Bachelors Recipe / Easy recipe

Ingredients:

Potatoes – 4
Tomato – 2
Onion – 1
Eggs -3
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Red Chili powder – 3/4 th tsp
Cumin powder – 1 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Musoor dal / red lentils – 1/2 cup
Green chili – 2
Dry red chili – 1
Fresh coriander
Cardamom – 3
Cinnamon – 2 small quills
Bay leaf – 1

Method:

– First wash and soak masoor dal for 30 min
– Boil eggs
– In a pan add oil and add cubed potatoes, salt and turmeric to it
– Fry till golden brown on all sides. Remove them and add boiled eggs and fry them as well. Keep them a side.
– Now add oil and cumin seeds and let them splatter.
– Now add cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaf, Dry red chili and green chilies.
– Fry them and add chopped onion and fry till they are translucent.
– Now add ginger garlic paste and water and cook for 5 min and now add coriander powder and red chili powder and mix well.
– Now add chopped tomatoes and mix well.
– Now add pre soaked dal and fryed potatoes and cook till dal is soft.
– Adjust salt accordingly.
– Now add fryed eggs and cumin powder.
– Garnish with fresh coriander and close for 10 min.
– Enjoy with rice or roti.
