Drying out chili peppers to make homemade Chili Powder / Homemade chili pepper seasoning is so easy and the finished product is so versatile. You can use it as a standalone heat additive to any cooking, combine it with your favorite seasoning or BBQ rub for a kick of extra spiciness, or build your own seasoning from scratch by adding salt and herbs to taste.
Ingredients:
-Leftover Mash from making hot sauce
OR
-Whole chili peppers
Supplies:
-Parchment paper
-Baking pan and wire baking rack (if using oven)
-Dehydrator (if not using oven)
-Spice grinder/Coffee grinder/Food Processor/mortar & pestle
-High walled mixing bowls
-Airtight container for finished seasoning
-Latex gloves or Tongs
