The double decker taco meal deal was my favorite lunch to grab when working during college.

Now those chips are a 1$ and the drank is like 2.99 and the burrito who knows like 3 bucks that’s 7 dollars compared to 2 that’s nuts
hannahjoy69
same!!! you brought back memories of searching for change in my car while hungover 😂
Devonelove123
Those fed my broke ass when I moved out on my own at 19!
ChaInTheHat
I forget if the beefy five layer burrito was $.99 or two dollars but I feel like every day after high school me and my friend would buy 10 and split it – the 5layer back then was the shit and now for some reason, it doesn’t hit like it used to
whoocanitbenow
At my Taco Bell the drink and burrito alone would add up to at least 9.00. 😅

I was a kid when this meal was out. My parents didn’t have much money, but every now and then they’d want to treat us out to fast food. I always picked this meal. I remember them feeling kinda bad like it was too cheap or not enough- but I was so happy with it lol

When I was broke and unemployed, I lived off this for a few months.

As someone who loves Taco Bell and dieting, I want this back not because of price but a nice small meal.
When this was out originally I bought it ask the time cause it was filling and cheap. I remember paying 3.99 though?!
ShadowK2
Yooooo me too!

I’m in college right now and find myself living off of Taco Bell. Their online exclusive packs are pretty great and I pay $6.45 (USD) for a quesadilla, cheesy fiesta potatoes, a spicy potato soft taco, and a drink.

I love knowing that the federal govt subsidized my Taco Bell purchases in college

Bite of burrito, Dorito. Bite of burrito, Dorito.

Right after they turned their back on Code Red

My fave was when they ran out of Doritos and would offer a side of nachos or cinnamon twists as an alternative.

I do remember in the infancy of the 5-layer burrito they were only like $1 dollar. Maybe even $89 cents? People post that $89 cent advertisement in here all the time.
As expensive as Taco Bell has gotten, I do still believe they’re cheaper than most of the fast food joints. Maybe McDonald’s is more affordable? I really don’t eat there though. Especially when the Shamrock shake isn’t out.
bamboojerky
I use to get the 12 taco for $10 party pack back in the day
Few-Surprise2828
As someone who went to a high school who allowed seniors to go off property for lunch and had a taco bell across the street, this was my go to.
Phuzz15
I miss my beefy frito burrito. That one saved me
-DilesMyson-
My fat ass would get one of these with the double decker taco, and also get a power menu salad. I would lightly crumble the Doritos and put them on my salad like croutons.
germantechno
They were a lot larger back in the day too.

These were so good

When my husband and I were first married we didn’t have a lot of money and we ate at Taco Bell far more than we should have and we also ate these $2 meal deals. We’ve had 4 kids over the years so we haven’t been there in a while. Took the kids recently and was shocked to see the taco party packs are no longer $10.
Louumb
damn now its not even one burrito

BartlebyHiggensworth
If I remember right, you could sub nachos and chesse for the doritos. This was a steal.

They would still make a profit at that price! Stop Corporate Gouging Now!

I loved this as a kid. My parents wouldn’t take us out to eat much. But this was an exception and me and my sister didn’t mind. Ahh the memories I got the Gordita I think it was called with the Baja blast and the nacho Doritos. I believe that’s all it came with but for $2 it’s a steal!
