I tried the sauce and it compares to a seasoned Mexican chili sauce. It's definitely my favorite sauce. Has chili de Arbol, jalapeños, tomatillo and red habaneros. Definitely more authentic Mexican then there other sauces. It's about the consistency of the fire sauce but not as spicy. Overall a good sauce. My only complaint is it's limited time and I can see myself missing it when it's gone.

that’s a good list of ingredients! can’t wait to try it!
I’m not a fan.
I was looking for an excuse to try it today, but the box has way too much food and the drop sucks, so eh. Maybe next week
considering fire sauce isnt spicy at all thats a pretty big disappointment
Also…you realize its an actual product you can go and buy. No need to ‘miss it’ when its freely available.
I had low expectations when I ordered the discovery box and I’m surprisingly blown away by how good this sauce is. It’s like a smokier, more flavorful fire sauce. First 10/10 I’m giving Taco Bell in a while. Good shit.
I wonder how long they’re good for
Mix it with the nacho cheese sauce you get with nacho fries!
Just got it and SUPER bummed my location either forgot or just didn’t have it in stock yet but still is selling the box which is supposed to include it.
Sounds great! Thanks for the review. I’ll be checking it out for lunch today.
Tried it a little while ago. The sauce itself was a bit bland for my liking, straight out of the pack. Decent, but nothing I would miss. Once I put it on the food though: game changer. It added just enough complexity, without overpowering the food. It’s a good sauce!
That’s so dope ima have to try
Honestly, it reminded me of a salsa mixed with the chipotle sauce from back in the day. Not bad, but wish it was hotter, since the word “hot” is on the label twice. Kind of a misnomer there..
I get that they are trying to be cute with the package art but the one that says “Who’s Omar Apollo?” must have been what 95% of the people here legitimately said when this hot sauce was announced for the menu. Lol. Suppose it is genius marketing though because I am at least aware of the gentleman now.
Myself and my partner both just tried this and for some reason for he and I, we think it smells and has a black olive taste at first. Not spicy, but has some spice. Know what I’m saying? I liked it on my fiesta potatoes but still prefer the taste of Fire sauce for my burrito supreme. It pairs super well with nacho cheese sauce and sour cream. Thinking it’ll be a hit on those $3 nacho boxes.
Does it compare more to Tapatio or Valentina?
OP, you know you can just buy a bottle of the stuff, right?

It’s very smokey and not spicy much at first but it builds up nicely towards the end of eating. I like it a lot.
Got a bottle on the way from their shop.
Don’t worry, you can buy a small bottle of it online for like $20!
Had it last night, I will definitely look for this sauce in stories. Reminds me of Chalula but smokier.
It’s the first time I’ve had an actual hot sauce that was legitimately hot at taco bell since maybe reaper sauce
Had it last night and loved it.
This is the first positive review I have seen for this sauce. It was widely panned and compared to slim Jim’s in here last week.
It’s my favorite hot sauce they have put out
Pretty good stuff. But $15 for a 5 oz bottle on their website is absurd
It’s very good! I was impressed
crushed tomatillo frist then water, huge success, taco bell, make it non limited time
i love you taco bell lemme get a job in irvine thanks, ill eat.
Missing it when it’s gone? They sell bottles for $15 on their website. However here’s what’s interesting.. a bottle is 5 ounces for $15.. a packet is .20 cents for .5 ounces at Taco Bell.. so I could buy 10 packets for $2.00 and that’s 5 ounces.
I just tried it tonight and I love it!! Our Taco Bell charges .40 but they actually just threw 10 packs in our bag.
Take advantage of going inside to order and grab a handful before ya leave lol.
I was not impressed at all. I thought it tasted way too sweet and didn’t provide any bit of spice or quality flavor. They’re a ripoff when you buy them for 20¢. If they were free I really don’t know if I’d get them.
I have some ground turkey and tortillas @ home. Gonna try this with some gouda.
