The Best Chola Boot | Black Chickpeas Recipe

Ingredients:
2 cups soaked black chickpeas
1 ½ tsp salt
3 tbsp cooking oil
5-6 dry red chili
1 medium sliced onion
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp salt to taste
2 bay leaves
1 small chopped tomato
1 tsp garam masala
1 medium boiled chopped potato
2 tbsp water
¼ tsp roasted cumin powder
2-3 chopped green chili
2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander

Instructions:
1. Cook black chickpeas in a pot with salt and water until soft with lid on for 1 hour
2. Stir fry dry red chili for a minute in oil to infuse flavor the remove from heat and set aside for garnish
3. Stir fry sliced onions using the chili oil until golden brown then remove from heat for garnishing purpose but keep a few fried onions behind in pan
4. Add a splash of water and vigorously stir as you add the following ginger paste, garlic paste, red chili powder, coriander powder, salt to taste, bay leaves, and chopped tomato
5. Add the cooked black chickpeas, garam masala, and stir until water evaporates
6. Add potatoes and water then cook for another 5-7 minutes on low heat with lid on
7. Add roasted cumin powder, green chili, fresh coriander and one last final stir
8. Garnish with fried onion and roasted dry red chili
9. Enjoy!
