Shrimp tacos, with lettuce…they don’t look very appetizing, how did they taste?

  2. CuminTJ

They look like wheat flour tortillas and by definition, those are burritos, not tacos.

While living in Japan, I understood how bad they believe “Tacos are made”.

Also, a Taco that in Mexico would be 1 USD, was like 400 – 500 JPY.

I ended up eating Taco Bell since it was cheaper and closer to the mexican idea.

Wow they served you limon, was it expensive?

I don’t particularly like Fluor tortillas. Are they fish tacos?

When I lived in Paris in 2014-15 all I could find in the supermarket of “mexican” products were very thick flour tortillas of a Texan brand (Old El Paso), they also had “spicy” tomato sauces that were sweet instead of salty and spicy. I’m from Mexico Ciy, so we eat a lot more corn tortillas. My mother sent me some mexican snacks and a habanero sauce, and achiote sauce, so I would combine it with my tomato sauces and my dishes, so I would make flour tortilla enchiladas, it was the closest homemade thing I could prepare. That and some easy stews like tinga, picadillo. Oh there were also plain doritos without flavor, so I would use them as totopos and prepare chilaquiles with those.

There were Chipotle restaurants but they only had burritos. There was also a french “mexican” brand that served tacos that looked like chimichangas, terrible.

Although there was a mexican restaurant called [Itacate](https://10619-2.s.cdn12.com/m5/menu-Itacate-Cocina-Mexicana-Restaurant-1.jpg) that made me feel at home, with horchata and jamaica water, corn tortilla tacos (barbacoa, al pastor, arrachera, mexican chorizo, nopales, alambre), mexican brand cans such as La Costeña (it was freaking expensive like 15 euros for a can of beans).

It looks far more authentic to Mexico than the sushi I eat here in Mexico….. deep fried breaded beef and chicken sushi with bacon and chipotle-mayo.

closer to a burrito than a taco but looks nice

considering the atrocities we call japanese food here in mexico loos very nice, at least is not the ugly hard shell tortilla of the american version.

Minus the lettuce, they look like legit shrimp tacos, l would’nt hesitate to dive in.

  11. Significant-Text3412

Get rid of the lettuce and sour cream and it could look legit.

  12. _Wabbro_

Looks more legit than some tacos here in the States…

Se ven bien. Respect for those who respect tacos.

I won’t say shit because we utterly defile Sushi 😂

I picked up staphylococcus aureus at a Japanese spot in Calgary two years ago – haven’t been able to look at that cuisine since. Now I’m living in Cabo and everyone is raving about all the great sushi around. Are they for real? Am I missing out?

  17. FeminineHomeland

Well, they doesnt look like a typical mexican tacos but I guess is the same with sushi or pizza for Italians 🤷‍♀️ they doesnt look bad though

  18. Crafty_Economics895

Only difference is that the lettuce is under the meat 🤣

When I lived in Jordan a long time back, a Mexican restaurant opened up. For awhile, it was pretty good. Then they ran out of tacos. They started substituting vol-au-vent. Which was wasn’t bad — sort of fusion. But not quite the same.
