Chinese Stuffed Pepper Recipe (Chinese Style Cooking Recipe)

Welcome to Xiao’s Kitchen. My name is Xiao Wei, ever since my Mother taught me how to cook at an early age, I have always had a strong passion for Cooking. My family still live in Inner Mongolia in the northern part of China, where I visit each year and pick-up new Asian/Chinese recipes.

Ingredients:
8 Green Chilli Peppers (or long peppers)
50g Minced Pork
1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
Half Tbsp Vinegar
1 Tbsp Cooking Wine
1 Tbsp Sugar
1 Egg White
2 Spring Onions (use only the white parts)
0.5cm Ginger
30g Cornflour
1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
Salt to Taste

Method:
1. Finely chop the white parts of the spring onions and ginger.
2. Cut the ends off the peppers and then cut one side open with scissors.
3. Remove the seeds and then dust inside of the peppers with dry cornflour.
4. In a mixing bowl, place pork, 5ml water, egg white, salt, spring onion, ginger, rest of the cornflour and sesame oil. Mix all together.
5. Place about 1 Tbsp of the meat mixture inside each pepper, ensure the meat levels with peppers.
6. Heat 2 Tbsp oil in the frying pan on low heat until the temperature reaches 60 degrees so the oil is not too hot, place the stuffed peppers into the pan.
7. Cover and fry for 10 – 15 minutes until cooked – turn regularly throughout.
8. Remove lid, turn heat to high and add cooking wine, soy sauce, sugar and vinegar.
9. Make circler movements with the pan as to mix all ingredients. Then drizzle with sesame oil.
10. Transfer to a dish and serve.
